Navy Federal is hiring 450-600 new people in 2012

That should be great news for Nature Trail Pensacola property values.

 Spurred on by record-setting growth, Navy Federal Credit Union CEO Cutler Dawson expects to hire another 450 to 600 new employees this year.

 Dawson, speaking at Navy Federal’s $250 million Heritage Oaks campus in Beulah on Friday, said the new employees are needed because of increased demand for services from the credit union’s 4 million members worldwide, including the 400,000 customers added in 2011. 

 In addition to the new full and part-time jobs pledged for 2012, Dawson said Navy Federal hired 700 employees last year, bringing its total payroll to 2,200. 

The additional jobs would push Heritage Oaks’ four-building campus to within a few hundred jobs of its capacity of 3,300 workers.

And Dawson promised more good things to come for the Pensacola Bay area.

“All our future growth will be here in Pensacola,” he said. “We intend to fill this campus to capacity with our growth. We like it down here.”

Speaking of the community as a whole, Dawson said, “You have charmed us to come to Pensacola.”

While the jobs Dawson promised are largely the result of growth, they also are the result of a package of incentives being put together for Navy Federal, Pensacola Bay Area Chamber of Commerce CEO Jim Hizer said.

“The chamber is working diligently with Navy Federal to finalize incentives that are directly tied to their current job-creation plans,” he said.

The quality of employees, their work ethic and the training provided by local educational institutions, including the University of West Florida, have been primary drivers of the credit union’s growth over the past decade, Dawson said.

Among those attending the news conference were Escambia County Commissioner Wilson Robertson, Navy Federal Senior Vice President Debbie Calder, County Administrator Randy Oliver, Gulf Power CEO Mark Crosswhite, Pensacola Bay Area Chamber of Commerce Chairman Donnie McMahon and Hizer.

Robertson thanked Dawson for directing so much of the company’s growth to the Pensacola area and said the county wants to help facilitate future growth in any way it can.

Dawson also noted that Navy Federal was named to Fortune Magazine’s 2012 list of “100 Best Places to Work.”

“We’re on the list because we provide our employees with a good work environment and other benefits, and we intend to stay on the list,” he said.

Remember to visit friends and neighbors you know first, and then, only houses with lights on indicating trick or treaters are welcome. Be safe! It is always smart to travel in large groups if possible. Retailers have gotten into the act, too. Cordova Mall, Publix and other area shops take part in handing out Halloween Treats. If you have wee ones, these indoor venues may be the perfect spot to collect goodies with your little beggar. Having your own Halloween Bash is another way to celebrate and provide candy treats to your family and friends without having to go house to house!

Thinking ahead to 2014, you may want to have your digital camera on-hand to snap shots of those stand-out costumes, so that you can replicate them next Halloween.

Happy Halloween! The Best Trick Or Treating Neighborhoods in the Pensacola Florida area

Halloween 2013 Trick or Treating in Pensacola, Florida just got a little easier! Here is a list of “Best” trick or treating neighborhoods, where the Real Estate is all decked out for the Spooktacular night, and the goodies are deemed by many to be the best around! And, of course nowadays, the beggars arrive in style via a myriad of special chariots!

Back when I went trick or treating, we always walked around our neighborhood or nearby neighborhoods to snag the choice morsels that we craved on Halloween night.

From the golf cart, to cars, to pick up trucks with decorated trailer beds, there is no end to “how” the little goblins are carted from place to place to scare up the treats that please.

Halloween in Pensacola, Florida is celebrated throughout the various suburbs. For instance, in the 8 mile Road, Beulah area vicinity Creekwood Subdivision is a popular spot, as is the Milestone Subdivision in Cantonment around Pine Forest Road and Nine Mile Road.

There are several subdivisions in Pace, Florida that are crowded with beggars. One is Hammersmith Subdivision off of Berryhill Road, and another is Woodbine Springs Plantation Subdivision off of Woodbine Road.

Grand Pointe EastHeading to Gulf Breeze, Florida, be sure to hit the Sand Piper Village SubdivisionSandpiper Village Halloween house photo or the Grand Point East Subdivision. Both of these neighborhoods see a multitude of children sweeping through on All Hallows Eve!

If Milton, Florida is your destination of choice, check out the Tanglewood Golf and Country Club Subdivision, Cottonwood Subdivision or Whispering Woods Subdivision.

On the West side of Pensacola, be sure to visit Emerald Shores Subdivision and the Estates of Emerald Shores Subdivision and on the North end of Pensacola, in addition to Milestone, there is Bristol Park, Glenmoor Trail and Nature Trail.Nature Trail

A few nice neighborhoods near the University of West Florida come to mind, as well. Off of Scenic Highway, there is the River Gardens Subdivision, Macky Bluffs Subdivision, Hearthstone Subdivision and the Heritage Oaks Subdivision.

Just make sure to be safe. Stay in groups and travel with an adult. Adults, please remember to enjoy the festivities, but don’t partake of any alcoholic beverages if you are driving children around for the event! Drive cautiously! Remember to watch carefully for the little spooks that will be dashing from house to house. They are likely to be more focused on getting that next handful of candy and will not be focusing on the car coming up the road. Only visit houses of those people you know or where there are lights on indicating trick or treaters are welcome.

Do not let your children eat any of their candy until you have visually checked it to make sure all wrappers are intact, and for an added safety measure have your child’s candy x-rayed at a local hospital.

Winners Gait Subdivision Report-Pensacola Real Estate News
