Tragedy struck on Friday night as a helicopter carrying Herbert Wigwe, the Chief Executive Officer of Access Holdings, crashed near a border city between Nevada and California, claiming the lives of about six individuals.

Reports indicate that the chopper was en route to Las Vegas when the fatal accident occurred in California, United States. The crash site, near Nipton on the edge of the Mojave Desert, became the scene of a devastating incident involving a Eurocopter EC 130.

The helicopter, which had six people on board, tragically went down late Friday evening, marking the state’s second fatal helicopter crash in less than a week. The crash follows closely on the heels of another incident where a Navy chopper carrying five troops crashed during a routine training flight in Pine Valley, California.

San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department officials reported receiving information about the downed aircraft near Baker shortly after 10 p.m. on Friday. Despite efforts to locate survivors, authorities confirmed no survivors had been found.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) confirmed the crash, indicating that it occurred near Nipton, east of the 15 Freeway near Halloran Springs. As investigations into the tragic event continue, the loss of Herbert Wigwe, his family members, and the other passengers aboard the ill-fated helicopter casts a shadow of grief over the community.
