Early Life & Education

Andy Cohen, a prominent media personality, was born on June 2, 1968, in St. Louis, Missouri. Raised by his parents, Evelyn Cohen and Lou Cohen, alongside his sister Emily Rosenfeld, Andy‘s upbringing laid the foundation for his future endeavors.

Andy Cohen completed his education at Clayton High School and later pursued a Bachelor of Science in broadcast journalism at Boston University.

Career

Andy Cohen kicked off his TV journey as a CBS News intern, where he spent a solid decade learning the ropes. He worked his way up to senior producer gigs at The Early Show and 48 Hours and spent time at CBS This Morning. Then, he moved to Trio in 2000, eventually landing a sweet VP spot at Bravo in 2004 after they scooped up Trio.

But Andy‘s not just about the behind-the-scenes hustle; he’s got serious on-air chops, too. You might’ve caught him on Today, Morning Joe, Live! with Kelly, or The View. Plus, he’s popped up on many other talk shows and even played himself in some TV series like The Comeback and Saturday Night Live. Then, in 2009, he took the hosting reins with his own late-night talk show, Watch What Happens Live, which later blossomed into a weeknight series.

Andy Cohen also has a knack for writing. He released his memoir, Most Talkative, in May 2012, which snagged New York Times Best Seller status in several categories. He’s not afraid to stand up for what he believes in; he skipped co-hosting the Miss Universe pageant in Russia in 2013 due to their anti-LGBTQ+ laws.

He’s a radio rockstar, too, launching SiriusXM’s Radio Andy channel in 2015 and curating a killer lineup of shows. He and Anderson Cooper joined forces for their AC2 conversational stage show, which has been touring since 2015.

In 2016, he expanded his literary empire with Andy Cohen Books and released his third memoir, “Superficial: More Adventures From the Andy Cohen Diaries.” He’s also been reviving old favorites on TV, like Love Connection for Fox and co-hosting CNN’s New Year’s Eve coverage.

Andy has his fingers in a lot of pies. In 2018 alone, he appeared on Riverdale, RuPaul‘s Drag Race, and more. Since late 2018, he’s been ringing in the New Year with Anderson Cooper on CNN. That’s quite the résumé!
