A Nigerian musical sensation, Asake, celebrated his birthday on January 12, 2024, with a delightful surprise for himself and his fans – releasing a vibrant new song titled Only Me. This latest musical creation holds profound significance for the artist as it encapsulates his journey towards self-acceptance and inner contentment, emphasizing avoiding comparisons with others.

On his special day, Asake took to social media to share a heartfelt message, stating, ‘I honor the journey I’ve been on and the journey yet to come. Happy birthday to a resilient soul.’

Just a few weeks ago, Asake added another feather to his cap by earning his inaugural Grammy nomination for the track Amapiano with Olamide. This song is currently in the running for the Best African Music Performance category at the upcoming Grammy Awards, which are set to take place next month.

Asake‘s calendar has been marked with numerous accomplishments in the past year, including releasing the remix of Lonely At The Top, featuring H.E.R. The track’s original version held the record as the longest-running No. 1 hit in Nigeria. Moreover, Asake‘s album ‘Untitled’ soared to No. 4 on Billboard’s World Albums Chart.

The artist’s exceptional success has expanded his fanbase, evidenced by his sell-out performances at two iconic venues – London’s O2 Arena and New York City’s Barclays Center – during 2023. Notably, Asake‘s headline show at the Barclays Center marked a historic achievement, as he became the first African artist to accomplish such a feat in North America.

As Asake continues to make waves in the music industry, Only Me is a testament to his artistic evolution and resilience, charming audiences with groovy beats and poignant lyrics.
