Roque, a recent €40 million signing from Brazilian club Athletico Paraenense, is on the mend from an ankle injury. Despite his young age, the talented striker has already made waves in Brazilian football, amassing an impressive record of 11 goals and three assists in 22 league matches this season.
The Instagram post capturing Roque‘s wedding festivities garnered significant attention, amassing 295,752 likes and 1,772 comments. Among those offering congratulations was Chelsea’s Andrey Santos, a close friend and Brazil U-20 teammate. Santos, currently on loan at Nottingham Forest, welcomed Roque to the “club” of marriage, drawing a playful analogy to his recent nuptials.
“Welcome to the club,” Santos commented on Roque’s post.
Roque and Santos had previously showcased their striking prowess for the Brazil U-20 national team, jointly winning the Golden Boot with six goals each at the 2023 CONMEBOL Sub-20 tournament. Both players have made their senior international debuts for Brazil, highlighting their promising futures in football.
Barcelona eagerly anticipates Roque‘s arrival in 2024, viewing him as the next big talent for the club. With an ankle injury currently sidelining the young striker, he is expected to be an understudy to senior striker Robert Lewandowski, offering a potential solution to the club’s striking needs.
Reports suggest that Roque will don the iconic number 10 shirt at Barcelona after Ansu Fati, further fueling expectations of a bright future for the talented Brazilian at the Catalan club. As Roque continues his recovery and prepares for the next chapter of his football journey, Barcelona fans eagerly await the addition of this exciting prospect to their ranks.
