While his father boasted German, Scottish, and Irish ancestry, his mother’s heritage hails from the picturesque land of Italy, specifically Sicily. Following the tumultuous 1967 Newark riots, Christie‘s family relocated to Livingston, New Jersey, where he spent his formative years and completed his high school education in 1980.

During his time at Livingston High School, Chris Christie‘s leadership skills flourished as he assumed the role of class president, showcased his athletic prowess as a catcher for the baseball team and represented New Jersey in the esteemed United States Senate Youth Program. He attributes his Republicanism to the influence of his mother, who wholeheartedly supported his involvement in the gubernatorial campaign of his role model, the esteemed Thomas Kean. In 1984, Chris Christie proudly earned his Bachelor of Arts in political science from the prestigious University of Delaware, concurrently serving as the esteemed student body president.
