Early Life & Education

Andrew Paul Nii Amu Darko, better addressed as Darkovibes, was born in Ghana on March 14, 1995. There is much information about his family.

After meeting and spending time with his friend and producer, Vacs, who was employed in a studio in Mallam, the musician truly found his calling in the music business.

They devote sufficient time to learning about music and various musical genres, such as rap. Darkovibes then decided to stand out from other musicians by producing songs that mixed Ga, Twi, English, and Pidgin. He encountered pushback from his mentors and peers because Twi and Ga are Ghanaian dialects.

He overcame all obstacles and remained steadfast in his decision; consequently, producer Magnom noticed him. Together, the two wrote a few songs for the MTN pulse campaign. He began attracting the interest of individuals like Ayigbe Edem, Joey B, and many others.

The performer has endured his fair share of suffering. Darkovibes remembers how, when he first started, he had been invited to perform on campus, but the event’s planners turned him down since they didn’t know him.

He also slept in a studio for three years to succeed in the music business. He avoided his loved ones while working long hours to support his family.

Career

Darkovibes first worked with Vacs, a music producer, in 2012, who helped him establish himself as an artist and initially steer his musical career.

Since then, he has collaborated on fashion and music projects in Ghana and other African countries with numerous artists, celebrities, and music producers.

His appearance on Edem‘s smash song “Egboame” the Remix garnered him a nomination for the 2017 Ghana Music Awards in the category of hip-hop song of the year. He collaborated with MTN Ghana in 2016 by creating and singing the anthem for the MTN Pulse Campaign.

He works alongside the other members of the group La Même Gang, including Kiddblack, Nxwrth, RJZ, $pacely, and KwakuBs. In 2017, La Meme Gang issued their debut joint studio tape, La Meme Tape.

At Ghana’s yearly art and cultural event, “Chalewote,” in 2017, Darkovibes was one of a select group of artists chosen by Vogue Magazine UK to describe his style in music and fashion.
