Early Life & Education

Brooklyn Joseph Beckham, born on March 4, 1999, made his first appearance in the media just five weeks later. He joined his parents for a photo shoot in their penthouse flat in Manchester, England, which was featured in OK Magazine. Two months after his birth, in July 1999, his parents, David and Victoria Beckham, tied the knot in a memorable wedding ceremony where they sat on gold thrones during the reception.

When Brooklyn was three years old in 2002, the family moved into a barn conversion in Nether Alderley, a village close to Old Trafford stadium, where David played for Manchester United. However, they didn’t stay there for long and relocated to a mansion in Hertfordshire, Southern England, valued at $3.85 million. This house, often referred to as “Beckingham Palace” by the British media, boasted numerous amenities within its grounds, including seven bedrooms, a recording studio, indoor and outdoor pools, a petting zoo, a soccer pitch, a tennis court, and even two full-size golf holes.

On Brooklyn’s fifth birthday in March 2004, a grand celebration occurred at Beckingham Palace. An extravagant party, costing around $18,000, was organized in a large white marquee. By then, Brooklyn was already gaining recognition as a celebrity in his own right, with his cheeky grin becoming as recognizable as his mother’s famous pout, as noted by the London Evening Standard. The newspaper also reported that Brooklyn was not attending school regularly but receiving education from a governess at home. Due to his parents’ busy schedules, he often had extended family members looking after him and was accompanied by caretakers in public settings.

It is worth mentioning that Brooklyn has famous godparents, including Elton John and Elizabeth Hurley, who play significant roles in his life.

Brooklyn is a student at Parsons School of Design, New York, USA student. He is presently focusing on his studies and planning to go to college to further his education.

Career

In 2013, the Beckham family returned to London and settled into a luxurious house in Holland Park valued at $32 million. Brooklyn was enrolled in a small private school focusing on the arts during this time. His father supported his photography studies by purchasing him a camera to aid with his GCSE exam. Brooklyn later shared with Miss Vogue magazine that he started carrying the camera everywhere and discovered a deep passion for photography, including capturing, editing, and developing images.

To instill a sense of grounding, Brooklyn’s parents encouraged him to take on a part-time job at a local coffee shop, where he earned $4 per hour.

Furthermore, his father encouraged him to join the Arsenal Football Club youth academy. However, Brooklyn faced immense pressure and scrutiny, and despite his efforts, he was eventually released from the academy. Reflecting on this experience in an interview with Entertainment Today in 2017, Brooklyn expressed the weight of expectations placed upon him, stating, “Every time I made a mistake, everyone was looking at me… I kind of wanted to go in my direction. Photography is it.”

In 2014, Brooklyn made his debut as a solo cover star, appearing on the cover of Man About Town magazine. By April of the following year, he had amassed 1 million followers on Instagram. His talent caught the attention of Burberry, who enlisted him to photograph a fragrance campaign in January 2016. However, this collaboration faced criticism from fashion photographer Chris Floyd and others, who viewed it as “sheer nepotism.” Notably, Brooklyn’s younger brother, Romeo Beckham, has been modeling for Burberry since 2012, making him the first Beckham child to work with the renowned fashion brand.
