He was interested in politics and debate from a young age, and he participated in the Rotary International Youth Exchange program, which allowed him to spend a year in Arizona, USA, when he was 17.

He was impressed by the American culture and lifestyle and decided to pursue his higher education in the U.S.

He enrolled at Dartmouth College in 1979, majored in English, and graduated with a B.A. in 1983. He was an active member of the Dartmouth Review, a conservative student newspaper known for provocative and controversial articles.

He became the editor-in-chief of the paper in his senior year and gained national attention for his criticism of the college administration, faculty, and student groups. He also wrote for other conservative publications like the National Review and the American Spectator.

He was mentored by several influential conservative thinkers, such as William F. Buckley Jr., George Will, and Irving Kristol. He was also involved in campus politics and supported Ronald Reagan’s presidential campaign in 1980 and 1984.

Personal Life

Career

Dinesh D’Souza has had a prolific and controversial career as a political commentator, author, filmmaker, and conspiracy theorist.

He started his career in 1985 when he joined the American Enterprise Institute, a conservative think tank, as a research fellow.

He worked there until 1987 when he became a policy analyst for the Reagan administration. He served as a senior domestic policy advisor until 1988 and was involved in education, civil rights, welfare, and crime.

He also wrote his first book, Illiberal Education: The Politics of Race and Sex on Campus, in 1991, which criticized the academic left for promoting multiculturalism, affirmative action, and political correctness.

He left the government in 1989 and became a writer and speaker for various conservative outlets and organizations. He wrote several books, such as The End of Racism: Principles for a Multiracial Society (1995), The Virtue of Prosperity: Finding Values in an Age of Techno-Affluence (2000), What’s So Great About America (2002), and The Enemy at Home: The Cultural Left and Its Responsibility for 9/11 (2007).

He also debated with prominent liberals and atheists, such as Christopher Hitchens, Michael Shermer, and Bart Ehrman.

He became more involved in filmmaking in the 2010s when he directed and produced several documentary films based on his books.

His first film, 2016: Obama’s America (2012), was a critical and commercial success, as it grossed over $33 million and became the second-highest-grossing political documentary of all time.

The film portrayed Barack Obama as an anti-American radical who was influenced by his father’s anti-colonialism and his mother’s socialism.

His second film, America: Imagine the World Without Her (2014), was a response to the critics of America, who accused it of being a nation of theft, oppression, and exploitation.

The film argued that America was a force for good in the world and that its founding principles were worth preserving.

His third film, Hillary’s America: The Secret History of the Democratic Party (2016), was a scathing attack on Hillary Clinton and the Democratic Party, which he claimed were the true racists, fascists, and criminals in American history.

Critics widely panned the film, but it was a box office hit, as it grossed over $13 million and became the highest-grossing documentary in 2016.

His fourth film, Death of a Nation (2018), was a comparison between Donald Trump and Abraham Lincoln and between the Democrats and the Nazis.

The film was also poorly received by critics, but it made over $5 million and became the fourth-highest-grossing political documentary ever. He has continued to write books and make films in the 2020s, such as The Big Lie: Exposing the Nazi Roots of the American Left (2017), The United States of Socialism (2020), and Trump Card (2020).

He has also been active on social media, where he has expressed his support for Trump and his opposition to left-wing movements, such as Black Lives Matter, Antifa, and the impeachment. He has also promoted conspiracy theories, such as the QAnon, the Deep State, and election fraud.

• In 1995, he was criticized for his book, The End of Racism, which argued that racism was no longer a significant problem in America and that the real causes of the black underachievement were the cultural and behavioral differences between the races.
