The Instagram community was left in disbelief as Hafsat Surajo, popularly known as “Chuchu,” allegedly stabbed her business partner, Nafi’u Hafizu, to death in Kano. The incident unfolded on a tranquil Friday morning, transforming the peaceful atmosphere into a horrifying scene.

The police apprehended Hafsat and her husband, Dayyabu Abdullahi, following suspicions raised by Nafi’u‘s family members. The couple had initially informed them that Nafi’u had succumbed to an illness, prompting the family’s journey from Bauchi to Kano for his burial.

Social media, particularly Instagram, where Hafsat and Nafi’u were portrayed as having a close bond akin to siblings, has been abuzz with speculation surrounding the shocking incident.

Details emerging from the investigation paint a chilling picture. Hafsat claimed that she acted in self-defense during a struggle with Nafi’u, resulting in multiple stab wounds and his tragic demise. In a state of apparent rage and grappling with depression, she left the scene to seek medical attention for her own injuries, leaving Nafi’u dead.

Realizing the gravity of her actions, Hafsat contacted her husband, Dayyabu Abdullahi, who returned home to a shocking aftermath. Abdullahi sought help from family friend Malam Adamu to manage the situation. Malam Adamu, initially hesitant but allegedly under duress, assisted the couple by covering the stab wounds with a cloth and preparing the deceased for burial.

The Commissioner of Police in Kano, Muhammad Hussaini Gumel, assured the public of a thorough investigation. Upon completion, Hafsat Surajo, Dayyabu Abdullahi, and Malam Adamu will face legal consequences for their roles in this tragic event. The unfolding details suggest a grim reality beneath the Instagram façade, underscoring the complexities of relationships and mental health.
