If you’re looking for a melodic escape, Jaywillz‘s latest EP, Pretty Inside, is worth your time. However, if you’re a seasoned fan of the Nigerian artist, it might leave you with a sense of deja vu.

Jaywillz has been dropping EPs every year since his breakthrough in 2020, and his fourth project stays within the viral hit Medicine that catapulted him into the spotlight. While Good Life starts the collection with a motivational energy that draws you in, it’s hard to feel like the following five tracks hit different marks.

Although the EP has filled with Jaywillz‘s signature Highlife mashup, Pretty Inside lacks the versatility that made his previous projects so exciting. Fans may also wonder why the artist keeps releasing EPs instead of a full-length albums.

Despite its focus on love and adoration for women, the EP’s final track transitions into a message of hope for the hopeless, with religious undertones that can’t be ignored.

Overall, Pretty Inside may leave listeners questioning the connection between its title and most of the project’s focus on a woman. It’s a topic only Jaywillz can clarify, but if you’re in the mood for some smooth tunes, it’s definitely worth a listen.
