Early Life & Education

Louis Tomlinson, now 32 years old, was born on December 24, 1991, in Doncaster, South Yorkshire, England, to Troy Austin and Johannah Deakin (née Poulston). His parents were both 18 years old when they had him, and they separated a few days after his birth.

He later took the surname of his stepfather, Mark Tomlinson, who married Johannah in 1997. He has seven siblings: four biological sisters, one biological half-sister, and one step-brother and one step-sister.

He grew up in a working-class family and attended Hall Cross School and Hayfield School. From a young age, he was interested in music and acting and participated in several school productions and musicals.

He also played the piano and guitar and wrote his own songs. He was a fan of bands like Oasis, The Fray, and Green Day. He also played football for his school team and supported his local club, Doncaster Rovers.

He auditioned for The X Factor in 2009 but did not make it past the producer’s audition. He tried again in 2010 and impressed the judges with his rendition of “Hey There Delilah” by Plain White T’s. He reached the boot camp stage but was eliminated before the final round.

However, he was brought back with four other solo contestants, Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, and Zayn Malik, to form a group called One Direction.

The group became one of the most successful and popular acts in the show’s history and finished in third place.

Personal Life

Louis Tomlinson dated Hannah Walker, a schoolmate, from 2010 to 2011. He then dated Eleanor Calder, a model and fashion blogger, from 2011 to 2015 and from 2017 to 2022.

They met through a mutual friend and had an on-and-off relationship for nine years. They never got engaged or married, despite some rumors.

He also dated Briana Jungwirth, a stylist based in Los Angeles, in 2015. They had a son, Freddie Reign Tomlinson, born on January 21, 2016. They co-parent their son but are not in a romantic relationship.

He also dated Danielle Campbell, an actress, from 2015 to 2017. They met through mutual friends, and had a brief but intense relationship.

He is very close to his family, especially his mother, Johannah, who passed away in 2016 from leukemia.

He also lost his sister, Félicité, in 2019 from a cardiac arrest. He pays tribute to them in his music and social media posts and supports various charities and causes in their honor.

Career

Louis Tomlinson started his musical career as a member of One Direction, the boy band formed on The X Factor in 2010.

They also embarked on four world tours and won several awards, such as the Brit Awards, the MTV Video Music Awards, and the American Music Awards.
