Early Life

NBA YoungBoy, also known as YoungBoy Never Broke Again, was born on October 20, 1999, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, United States. His mother, Sherhonda Gaulden, played a pivotal role in his upbringing with the help of his grandmother after his father was sentenced to 55 years in prison. The talented rapper has two younger brothers, BWay Yungy and Ken Gaulden.

NBA YoungBoy faced a significant hurdle in his early years when he suffered a neck injury while wrestling, resulting in permanent scars on his forehead after wearing a head brace until his spine healed. Despite this, he persevered and began writing lyrics for his debut project after dropping out of high school in ninth grade.

Unfortunately, tragedy struck when his beloved grandmother died from heart failure, leaving him devastated. Struggling with the loss, he found solace in music and pursued a career with a friend and fellow rapper from Baton Rouge.

Together, they funded their studio time with criminal activities, which helped them gain a foothold in the industry. However, this success was short-lived, as NBA YoungBoy was later arrested for robbery. Undeterred, he continued to write and produce music from prison, determined to succeed in his career.

Eventually, his talent and hard work paid off when YoungBoy Never Broke Again was signed to Atlantic Records in late 2017, leading to the release of his hit single Outside Today in 2018. From there, he continued to climb the ranks with numerous successful projects, including Until Death Call My Name (2018), AI YoungBoy 2 (2019), 38 Baby 2 (2020), Top (2020), Sincerely, Kentrell (2021) and The Last Slimeto (2022), all of which reached the top of the Billboard 200 chart.

Personal Life

At the tender age of 24, YoungBoy Never Broke Again, a prominent American rapper, has become a father to ten children with eight different women. His offspring range in age and gender and hold a special place in his heart.

In one of his music videos, Kacey Talk, he showcases his two sons, Kayden Gaulden and Kacey Alexander Gaulden, who have already begun to follow in their father’s musical footsteps. Unfortunately, NBA YoungBoy‘s claim to fatherhood was challenged when he named Kamron Gaulden as one of his sons in 2017. However, a DNA test later revealed that he wasn’t the biological father of Kamron Gaulden, who was born to Starr Thigpen in July 2016, just weeks after Kayden Gaulden‘s birth.

But with his commitment to family, NBA YoungBoy is stepping up to be the best father he can be, even if it means navigating complex relationships with various mothers. He recently tied the knot with his long-time girlfriend, Jazlyn Mychelle, and the mother of two children. This union marks the start of a new chapter for the couple and their growing family, built on the foundation of love, dedication, and mutual respect.

Despite some publicized relationships with other women, NBA YoungBoy‘s priority remains his children, and he strives to provide them with a happy and stable home environment. He has eight more children with seven women, including a son named Kentrell Gaulden Jr., who he shares with Iyanna “YAYA” Mayweather, the daughter of boxing champion Floyd Mayweather. He also has a daughter, Kodi Capri, with actress Drea Symone, and it is believed he is the father of her other child, whose name remains unknown.

The rapper is also a proud dad to daughter Armani Gaulden, son Kayden Gaulden, and son Kacey Alexander Gaulden, who he shares with Nisha. He has a 5-year-old son, Taylin Gaulden, with Nia Baby and a son Kamiri Gaulden with Starr Dejanee. YoungBoy Never Broke Again even acts as a father figure to Starr’s son Kamron Gaulden, who is not biologically his.

YoungBoy Never Broke Again‘s love life has been the talk of the town for a while now. From flings to full-blown relationships, the rapper has been with some notable names in the industry. In 2014, he was linked with a woman named Nisha, followed by Starr Dejanee in 2015. The year 2017 saw him with several women, including Bhad Bhabie, Jania Jackson, Malu Trevejo, and Jania Bania (Jania Meshell).

But it doesn’t stop there. YoungBoy Never Broke Again also dated Kaylyn Marie Long (Kay Marie) from 2018 to 2019, Yaya Mayweather in 2018, and Young Lyric in 2019. Recently, in 2023, he was spotted with Angel Reese, sparking rumors of a possible romance.

The rapper has also had some encounters with Slim Danger, Nia Baby, and Drea Symone. Despite his busy love life, NBA YoungBoy has always been vocal about his love for his family and children.

Career

At a mere fourteen years old, YoungBoy Never Broke Again began producing music with a microphone he got from Walmart. His hard work paid off when he released his mixtapes, Life Before Fame and 38 Baby, featuring other Baton Rouge rappers. Then, his popularity surged, especially after he engaged in a “song-for-song rap beef” with a fellow Baton Rouge rapper.

His career was momentarily put on hold after being arrested in Texas for attempted first-degree murder. While in prison, he re-released his two mixtapes. Upon his release, he returned with his single Untouchable, followed by the video release of his song 41, featuring notable artists.

The release of his AI YoungBoy mixtape in August 2017 was a huge success, peaking at 24 on the Billboard 200 chart, with the single Untouchable reaching number 95 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The second single from the project, No Smoke, also gained popularity, peaking at number 61 on the Billboard Hot 100.
