PMP certification China’s application volume is growing rapidly, how high is the gold content of PMP certification in China?

To put it bluntly, the gold content is actually the demand of enterprises, so what is the general situation in China?

First, let’s take a look at Xinhuanet’s report on the number of PMP certification applicants:

According to the “Development Report on China Project Management for 20 Years (1999-2019)” released by the China International Talent Exchange Foundation, as of September 2019, the cumulative number of PMP applicants nationwide was nearly 600,000, the number of people who passed PMP certification was about 420,000. The number of effective holders was about 300,000, accounting for 1/3 of the total number of PMP certificates[pgmp certification online] in the world.

From the above data, the national reference pass rate is 70%.
According to the report, the top ten companies in terms of applicants are Huawei, China Mobile, IBM, PetroChina, China Telecom, HEWLP, ZTE, Sinopec, CNOOC, and Lenovo Group. Among them, Huawei’s cumulative application volume exceeded 10,000 people. Look at the enterprise level with the largest number of PMP people above, what you think the demand is, and what the gold content is.

Second, let’s take a look at the official PMI data.

Chinese mainland, the total number of PMP and PMI-ACP-certified persons

Industry distribution

Regarding the number of Chinese mainland PPPs, the information technology, manufacturing, and telecommunications industries ranked in the top three; in 2018-2019, the top three industries with the fastest growth in PMP numbers were aviation, automotive, and health care.
With PMP certification, what advantages will you have

1. Enhance workplace competitiveness

In some large enterprises, PMP certification has become a mandatory qualification for enterprise “project managers.” If you want to enter a multinational company, PMP qualification is an indispensable “stepping stone” and even one of the prerequisites. Therefore, based on experience and ability, it is best to obtain this certification.

2. Improvement of personal ability

For those who have not yet started and are determined to work in project management, PMP will be a systematic learning process; fully understand the process of project management and the various process groups and knowledge areas of project management, and can theoretically grasp the theoretical qualities that project managers should have.

For a person already engaged in project management work, the learning process of the PMP system can standardize the project management work and improve the professionalism of project management. Most importantly, you have learned a set of normative and complete thinking skills, whether in project management or front-line implementation, which will greatly help you.

3. Development after obtaining the certificate

Due to the domestic market, many enterprises provide double preferential benefits such as appreciation, salary increase, and examination reimbursement to encourage in-service employees to obtain corresponding certificates. Therefore, some people can get promotions and salary increases after obtaining certificates. Still, some students do not have a direct reaction to money or positions in the short term, but in terms of the guiding significance of actual work, almost all students believe that after learning PMP courses, there is indeed a certain improvement in working methods and work efficiency.

Project management is not only a means and skill, but also a kind of thinking, just like the systematic thinking we often say. In the past, we tended to look at individuals separately and think about the solution of problems, but now, everyone increasingly considers them as a whole from the system’s perspective. And now, everything I encounter can be managed as a project. One of the benefits is that the phenomenon of “three-minute enthusiasm” can be reduced to a certain extent because you have learned to plan before doing it, knowing the time and energy you have to invest, the risks you have to bear, etc., and you will consider more thoroughly and decide Slower-“Slowly think fast.”

Of course, the biggest and greatest gain is not just learning this knowledge, this kind of thinking change, but also the friends from all walks of life made here. After the PMP exam, everyone encourages each other to continue learning and sharing the next learning plan. It is truly a “learning community”. This period of friendship is precious and rare. I hope that every comrade-in-arms struggling with PMP and every student studying at SPOTO can grow more in 2021 and have the wisdom, confidence, and courage to face all difficulties and setbacks!

Before I got the results, I was mentally prepared- this learning experience is the most precious; I challenged my self-discipline and persisted until the end, which was the coolest!!

Finally, when I informed everyone of the results of my PMP exam, many friends came to me and said, “Actually, I wanted to take the PMP certificate a long time ago, but my colleague kept telling me that it was useless.” In this situation, what is really useful is not the PMP certificate but the effort you have made in obtaining the PMP certificate and the knowledge and thinking you have learned.

So, how do you learn PMP certification?

If your self-learning ability is strong, then you must be able to get this certificate through your own efforts. If the self-learning ability could be stronger, the best advice is to enroll in classes! Because it can show you the way and improve your self-discipline!
