Nigerian singer Reekado Banks is at the centre of a social media storm. A series of old tweets dating back to 2012 have recently resurfaced, revealing controversial opinions and strong criticisms of fellow musicians such as Wizkid, Brymo, Davido, Ice Prince, Chidinma, and others.

The unearthed tweets, which have since gone viral, showcase a different side of the Ozumba Mbadiwe crooner. Reekado Banks disapproved of Wizkid‘s music in one tweet, stating it “lacks depth.” In another, he criticized Brymo‘s vocal abilities, claiming that he was “overrated.”

Reactions from fans and critics have been mixed. Some have condemned Reekado Banks for his past remarks, while others have defended him, arguing that people change and grow over time. One Twitter user, @musiclover2023, wrote, “I can’t believe Reekado Banks said those things about Wizkid and Brymo! It’s so disappointing.”

In contrast, @fanforlife2023 tweeted, “Everyone makes mistakes, and we all have opinions. Reekado Banks shouldn’t be judged for things he said years ago.”

Reekado Banks has not publicly addressed the controversy, leaving fans and critics to speculate about his current views on the artists he once criticized. In the meantime, the conversation continues to rage on social media platforms, with fans of the various musicians passionately defending their idols.
