Hey there, folks! It’s not often we get a peek behind the curtain of fame, but Nigerian music sensation Solidstar pulls it back for us. In a candid chat on The Honest Bunch Podcast, he spilt the beans on his rough ride with drugs.

The ‘Omotena‘ hitmaker didn’t hold back, revealing how he was introduced to “ice” – that’s street talk for crystal Methamphetamine – by some buddies back in 2021. And let me tell you, it wasn’t a walk in the park. Well, except for that one time when he walked from Awoyaya to the Oriental Hotel in Victoria Island, a journey that should have taken a cab, not a pair of sneakers.

“It was like this substance had a direct line to my ego,” Solidstar shared. “It made me feel like a king, telling me not to worry about paying for stuff.”

But fast forward to August 2023, and the scene wasn’t so glamorous. Videos started popping up online, showing Solidstar looking worse for wear, roaming the streets aimlessly. His brother, Joseph Iniyezo, spilt the tea, blaming it all on his battle with drugs.

But hold up, there’s a twist in this tale. Solidstar revealed he’s turned a corner in a recent heart-to-heart with Saturday Beats. He’s put the brakes on the substances, waving goodbye to smoking and drinking.

“I’m feeling tip-top now, folks,” he beamed. “No more lighting up or hitting the bottle for me. It’s all about keeping it real.”

And you know what? This journey’s taught him a thing or two. He’s learned the power of opening up, not keeping those feelings locked away. Plus, he’s singing praises for the support he got from friends, fans, and family during his darkest days.

“If not for them, I’d have been singing a different tune,” he confessed, grateful for the love that kept him going.

So, as Solidstar dusts off his mic and gets ready to rock the stage again, let’s give him a round of applause for showing us the power of bouncing back. Here’s to facing the music and finding your groove again!
