She often played catch with him and helped him improve his pitching skills, making her a major inspiration in his life.

Education

Stephen Strasburg went to West Hills High School in West Hills, California, where he was known for his pitching skills but wasn’t seen as a top prospect initially.

He then continued his baseball career at San Diego State University, where he excelled as a pitcher, breaking school records for strikeouts and boasting a low ERA.

In 2008, he was chosen to represent the US in the Olympic baseball team.

Career

Throughout his career, he has experienced both remarkable successes and disappointing setbacks.

Strasburg debuted in 2010 amid much hype, striking 14 batters in the game and setting a new record for the Nationals.

Despite these challenges, Strasburg has had notable successes in his career. He played a significant role in the Nationals’ 2019 World Series win and has been selected to the All-Star team thrice.

Additionally, he has received various accolades, including the National League Rookie of the Year Award in 2010.
