In a pivotal development for the Super Eagles, OGC Nice striker Terem Moffi is poised to join the squad in Abidjan this Sunday, as per TheCityCeleb‘s latest report.
Unfortunately, the 24-year-old forward, a late replacement for the injured Victor Boniface of Bayer Leverkusen, will miss the opening match of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Group A against Equatorial Guinea.
OGC Nice has granted permission for Moffi‘s release following their league clash with Stade Rennes on Saturday, ensuring his availability for Nigeria’s second Group A encounter against the host nation, Cote d’Ivoire.
In another positive development, Leicester City star Kelechi Iheanacho is set to rejoin the Super Eagles squad in Abidjan after completing treatment for a muscular injury.
Under the leadership of coach Gernot Rohr, the Super Eagles are gearing up for a formidable campaign in the AFCON 2023 tournament. Moffi‘s inclusion and Iheanacho’s return add significant depth and firepower to the Nigerian squad, sparking excitement among fans eagerly anticipating their contributions in the upcoming crucial matches.
