Early Life and Education

The Game, who is now at the age of 45, was born on November 29, 1979, in Compton, California, to George and Lynette Taylor, who were both members of the Crips street gang.

He had a turbulent childhood, as he witnessed violence, drug abuse, and poverty in his neighborhood. He was placed in foster care at the age of seven after his father was accused of molesting his sister.

He reunited with his mother at the age of 15 but soon dropped out of high school and joined the Cedar Block Piru Bloods, a rival gang of the Crips, through his brother Jevon. He was involved in various criminal activities, such as selling drugs, stealing cars, and robbing banks.

He was shot five times in a home invasion in 2001 and spent several days in a coma. While recovering in the hospital, he pursued a rap career and started studying the works of influential rappers like Tupac, Biggie, and Nas.

Personal Life

The Game has had several romantic relationships that lasted only a short time. In 2005, he was engaged to actress and model Valeisha Butterfield, the daughter of U.S. Congressman G. K. Butterfield, but they broke up in 2006. He then dated singer and actress Mya for a few months in 2007.

From 2011 to 2014, he was also engaged to Tiffney Cambridge, a teacher and the mother of his two youngest children.

They starred in a reality T.V. show called ‘Marrying The Game,’ which documented their relationship and wedding plans.

However, they ended their engagement after The Game was accused of assaulting Cambridge in a domestic dispute.

He also had a brief fling with model and socialite Kim Kardashian in 2006 and claimed to have slept with her sisters Khloe and Kourtney.

He has three children: Harlem Caron Taylor, born in 2003; King Justice Taylor, born in 2007; and California Dream Taylor, born in 2010.

Career

The Game started his rap career in 2002 when he was discovered by Dr. Dre, who signed him to his Aftermath Records label and mentored him.

He also joined G-Unit, a rap group led by 50 Cent, and collaborated with them on several songs and mixtapes.

He released his debut album, ‘The Documentary,‘ in 2005, which was a huge success and sold over five million copies worldwide.

The album featured hit singles like “Hate It or Love It,” “How We Do,” and “Dreams,” and it received critical acclaim for its production, lyrics, and storytelling.

The album also established The Game as a prominent figure in the West Coast hip-hop scene and revived the popularity of gangsta rap. However, he soon fell out with 50 Cent and G-Unit, leaving the group in 2005.

He then engaged in a bitter and public feud with them, which involved diss tracks, interviews, and confrontations. He also had beef over various issues with other rappers, such as Jay-Z, Snoop Dogg, Lil Wayne, and Kendrick Lamar.

The Game continued his solo career and released nine more studio albums, four of which reached number one on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart.

His most notable albums include ‘Doctor’s Advocate’ (2006), ‘L.A.X.’ (2008), ‘The R.E.D. Album’ (2011), and ‘Jesus Piece’ (2012).

He collaborated with many artists, including Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Chris Brown, Drake, and Kendrick Lamar.

He also founded his record label, The Black Wall Street Records, with his half-brother George Taylor, also known as Big Fase 100. He is widely regarded as one of his generation’s best and most influential rappers and has sold over 25 million records worldwide.

The Game also ventured into acting and appeared in several films and T.V. shows, such as ‘Waist Deep’ (2006), ‘Street Kings’ (2008), ‘Belly 2’ (2008), ‘House Arrest’ (2012), and ‘Marrying The Game’ (2012-2014).
