Early Life & Education

Tom Felton, known for his roles on screen, was born on September 22, 1987, in Epsom, Surrey, England. His parents, Peter Felton and Sharon Anstey, shared four boys together.

Sadly, their marriage ended in divorce during Tom‘s teenage years. While he likely grew up alongside siblings Jonathan Felton, Ashley Felton, and Chris Felton, details about them remain scarce due to the family’s private nature.

Tom Felton attended Cranmore School in West Horsley until age 13, then continued his education at the Howard of Effingham School. Early on, Tom showed an interest in singing, participating in school choirs, and earning a spot in the Guildford Cathedral Choir.

Career

Tom Felton‘s journey in the entertainment world kicked off with those familiar TV ads we all know and love—think Commercial Union and Barclaycard. Then, in 1997, he made his big-screen debut as Peagreen Clock in The Borrowers. From there, he made his mark on the small screen with roles like James in Bugs and Thomas Ingham in Second Sight opposite Clive Owen.

But his audition for Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone changed everything. Fun fact: he originally tried out for Harry and Ron before snagging the part of Draco Malfoy. And boy, did he make it his own. Critics praised his performance, calling him the ultimate embodiment of upper-class snobbery.

Fast forward to 2022, and Tom Felton‘s still making magic happen. He reunited with his Hogwarts crew in the Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts special. Plus, he made his West End debut in 2:22 A Ghost Story and dropped his memoir, Beyond the Wand: The Magic and Mayhem of Growing Up a Wizard. The book flew off the shelves, landing Tom at the top of The New York Times bestseller list. Looks like this wizard’s still casting spells on and off the screen!
