Zack Orji: First Lady and VIPs Visit Ailing Actor Amid Criticism
Isabella Turner
The First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, and the wife of the Vice President, Hajia Nana Shettima, visited the National Hospital in Abuja to check on the well-being of veteran Nollywood actor Zack Orji.
The distinguished visitors were accompanied by key figures such as the Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, the wife of the Minister for Works, Rachael Umahi, and the wife of the Minister of State for Defence, Aisha Bello Matawalle, among other notable personalities.
The visit aimed to convey warm wishes and encouragement to Zack Orji during his ailment, reflecting these respected women leaders’ deep concern and empathy.
However, amidst this display of compassion, the absence of condolences for the tragic loss of over 120 lives in Plateau State to terrorist activities has raised questions about the selectivity of expressions of sympathy. The contrast between the high-profile visit and the silence on the Plateau State tragedy has sparked a conversation about the equitable distribution of empathy in the face of diverse challenges nationwide.
